was doing a fresh install on my production machine, to fill it up with tiger goodness. i thought i would list the main stuff that i installed. feel free to comment if you think i missed something vital

(and yes, it is in the order in which i installed things. make of that what you will)

teleport – really hand remote control thing for macs
quicksilver – application launcher. how can you live without it
vlc – the ultimate media player. i needed something to watch whilst i was installing
textmate – really nice tabbed text editor. you have to have something to edit your .conf s
voodoopad – desktop wiki. the best
netnewswire – ultimate rss reader. don’t leave home without it
pithhelmet – ad blocker for safari.
userContent.css – css adblocking
sogudi – add search queries to safari’s location bar
taboo – tab closing warning
tinkertool - osx tweeker
do something when – trigger events on connection of a device
apple remote desktop – remote control of other macs, great admin tool
darwinports – compiler of osx type stuff
cronnix – gui for cron. yes i’m lazy
toast – the essential burning util
transmit – the essential gui for ftp and sftp
firefox – the ‘other’ browser in my life
mail act-on – *really* nice add on for mail – keyboard triggers
growl – it makes things popup in a cool way on your screen. what more could you want
googlemaps for addressbook – get cool google maps rather than mapquest
audio hijack pro – great audio tool for capturing content
weatherpop advance – quite nice weather widget for your menubar
ffmpegx – codec
divx codec – codec
3ivx d4 – codec
qt ac3 codec – codec
stuffit – for those .sit files
adium – perfect IM client
amadeus – great little audio wave form editor
handbreak – video compression tool
dvd2onex – shrink dvd to single layer size
xscope – little graphic util for layout
mpeg streamclip – another video tool
salling clicker – great add on for your phone
mac the ripper – rip your dvds
svn – great tool
